Please follow these instructions if you
have an iMac, iBook, G3/G4 system or, are running Macintosh OS 8.6 or
above.
- Clear your desktop.
- Double click on the hard drive icon
in the upper right of the screen.
- Find a folder called 'Assistants'.
Double click on it to open the folder.
- Double click on 'Internet Setup
Assistant' icon.
- The program then asks "Do you
want to set up your computer to use the Internet?" Click: Yes.
- "Do you already have an internet
account?" Click: Yes.
- Page #1 In the lower right you will
see an arrow: >. Click the right arrow (>).
- Page #2 In the box, enter: I-Land
Internet Services. Then it asks, "How will you connect
to the Internet?", click the modem button then
click the right arrow(>).
- Page #3 To select your modem, click
and hold down the bar.
To select your modem port, click and
hold down the appropriate bar.
Choose touch tone or pulse (rotary) by clicking
the proper button.
Click the right arrow (>).
- Page #4 First box: Enter your
local modem access number. See page 2 of this users guide for these
numbers.
Second box:
Enter your user name. For example: jdoe
Third box:
Enter your password. For example: 1234abcd
Click the right arrow (>).Page #5 Click NO then the right
arrow (>).
- Page #6 Click NO then the right
arrow (>).
- Page #7 First box: When asked
for DNS #, enter: 205.242.230.2
Second box:
When asked for domain name, enter iland.net
Click the right arrow (>).
- Page #8 First box: When
asked for your e-mail address, enter (your user name)@iland.net.
For example: jdoe@iland.net
Second box:
When asked for your e-mail password, enter your password.
For example:
1234abcd
Click the right arrow (>).
- Page #9 First box: When
asked for your e-mail account, enter (your user name)@mail.iland.net.
For example: jdoe@mail.iland.net
Second box:
When asked for email host, enter mail.iland.net
Click the right arrow (>).
- Page #10 When asked for NNTP, enter news.iland.net
Click the right arrow (>).
- Page #11 Click NO then click
the right arrow (>).
- Page #12 You are finished! Click Go
